FAQ
How do I measure my baby's head?
Wrap a soft tape measure around the widest part of the head, just above the eyebrows, and match the measurement to our size chart. Our sizes run from 34.6cm (0–3 months) up to 48.3cm (12–18 months).
What if my baby is between two sizes?
Size up. Measurements are approximate, and the 95% cotton, 5% elastane rib band stretches to hold a slightly larger hat securely so the band still sits above the eyes.
How should the Nap Hat fit?
The band should sit snug just above the eyebrows without leaving marks and the fold-down shade should rest over the eyes only, clear of the nose and mouth.
Does the fold-down shade change the size I choose?
No. The shade is part of the hat body in the same cotton jersey and is sized to match the band, so choose by head circumference alone.
How often should I re-check the size?
Head circumference grows quickly in the first year, moving through our 0–3, 3–6 and 6–12 month sizes in that time. Re-measure before each size up so the band keeps sitting above the eyes rather than slipping lower.
What is the Nap Hat made from and does it affect fit?
The hat and shade are 100% cotton jersey, and the rib band is 95% cotton, 5% elastane. The elastane lets the band stretch on and recover, which is why a measurement between two sizes still fits comfortably.
Is the shade safe while my baby naps?
Yes. The shade covers the eyes only and never reaches the nose or mouth and the hat has no detachable parts, so it stays clear and secure when folded down.
Will the Nap Hat shrink after washing?
To keep the cotton jersey true to size, use a cold gentle machine wash and lay flat to dry. Following the care instructions protects both the fit and the softness of the fabric.
What if the hat doesn't fit once it arrives?
We accept 30-day returns on unworn items, so you can re-size if the fit isn't right.
How do your sizes compare to other Australian baby brands?
Our sizes are chosen by head circumference in centimetres rather than age, so measure your baby and match to our chart - 34.6cm to 48.3cm across the four sizes - rather than assuming an age label.
